Amber Donner received her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami in 1983 and her law degree from the University of Miami School of Law, cum laude, in 1986. At the University of Miami School of Law, Ms. Donner was on the University of Miami Law Review and served as Associate Editor and Associate Research Editor in 1984 and 1985, respectively.

From 1993 to 2000, Ms. Donner served as attorney-advisor to the United States Trustee and was responsible for monitoring bankruptcy cases filed in the Southern District of Florida. During her tenure, Ms. Donner was additionally responsible for the referral of criminal matters to the United States Attorney and for coordination and implementation of an internship offered through the University of Miami School of Law.

From 2000 to 2009, Ms. Donner performed contract and of counsel work for various boutique, national and international firms specializing in insolvency and insolvency related matters. From 2009 to the present, Ms. Donner partnered with Ronald Gainor, a former Assistant State Attorney for Miami-Dade County,  Florida, practicing primarily white collar criminal defense.

Practice Focus:
Ms. Donner’s criminal practice focuses on a wide variety of complex fraud cases, including securities fraud/insider trading, bank fraud, wire fraud, bankruptcy-related fraud, mortgage fraud and health care fraud. Ms. Donner’s criminal practice focuses on motion and pre-trial practice.

Ms. Donner’s bankruptcy practice focuses primarily on resolving complex insolvency related matters. She has represented creditors, chapter 7 and chapter 11 trustees, creditor’s committees and debtors. Ms. Donner has extensive motion and adversary proceeding practice.
